Kjetil Alexander Eskerud

Kjetil is a seasoned finance and maritime industry professional with over two decades of international experience in ship finance, investment advisory, and strategic business development. Based in Hamburg, Germany, he is the founder of 59° North Consult, a boutique consultancy providing tailored financial and commercial services to clients in the maritime sector.

Since 2019, Kjetil has been working closely with NSB Group, supporting a wide range of activities including vessel financing and refinancing, M&A advisory, investment coordination, and asset sales. His hands-on involvement with internal teams and external stakeholders has helped clients navigate complex financial landscapes while securing long-term asset viability.

Prior to founding 59° North Consult, Kjetil held senior roles at Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank, where he managed extensive shipping and offshore portfolios across Scandinavia, Northern Europe, the UK, and Asia. He has led numerous cross-border transactions, structured high-value financing deals, and developed successful client strategies for leading maritime companies and family offices. His ability to mitigate risk, optimize performance, and foster long-term client relationships has consistently added value in challenging markets.

Kjetil began his career with Reuters PLC in various roles spanning account management and client consultancy, followed by a position at Technosis GmbH delivering financial software solutions. He holds an MSc in Banking & Finance from the University of Stirling, and an MA (Honours) in Business Organisation from Heriot-Watt University.

Fluent in Norwegian, English, German, Danish, and Swedish, Kjetil brings a multicultural edge to his work. He is also an active member of the Norwegian business community in Hamburg, serving on the board of Den Norske Klub.

His interests include skiing, tennis, football, politics, and travel—reflecting a dynamic and globally minded professional outlook.
